Truth or a lie

someone can tell you something
but that doesn't make it the truth
and you can know the truth but
that truth isn't for everyone.

"the truth can hurt"
it's true,the truth can hurt but
maybe it's not all that bad
or maybe it's not the truth
that hurts but it's the feeling
that it's all lie that hurts the most.

A lie is just a mask,a mask that
shields the world from a feeling,
a meaningless word
or a shadow of guilt
and you can lie to everyone
around you but
you can never lie to them more
then you are already lying to
yourself.

a lie isn't always bad
and a truth isn't always good
a lie can help you feel safe
and the truth can be scary
but... a lie can damage you
and the truth can set you free
