Truth of Light

The past some never leave behind

Others see what’s yet to be

Some are blind or half-blind

This includes you and me

Yet when we come into the light

The truth is made known

Waking up from the night

The rays of the sun have shone

It’s not something you can reason through

Or something memorized in class

The truth as light is a remembering

But withers away as a blade of grass

When we open up to its bright revealing love

And become more fully known

The truth itself will befriend us

And wisdom itself joins us from above

Calling out “here are we!”

It won’t leave us as we were

But transforms us into its own energy

A new creature, him or her

Finally, a new song begins to sing

We are the light of the earth

Impassioned with new heights of strength

He is the Light and the Vine and the Eternal Word
