You were playing with your toy
But it began to move on its own
When it passed near me I saw that it was three things:
Green plastic toy, lizard, and insect
With the dark, expressive eyes of a dog

I sat and said nothing
As I felt rage build
When you mistreated your toy

We had a pet rabbit and a dog
Living on Wolf Circle again
There was some danger in the jagged brown teeth of these pets
I felt them biting me
But overall the feeling was like

We were together again, playing in a field
And we were by our cousin's house
