Today Is The Day

Eyelids open for daybreak mode/ deep breath chest full of oxygen hold/
Exhale carbon dioxide to circulate stimulate sly like a fox eye told/
Clean I commence to see this mission unfold/ unparalleled passage to my own pot of gold/
Though the road is hard because life is a journey not a destination I pray for strength to be bold/
And wisdom to go unravel all the codes/ take on your burdens and lighten up your load/
Cuz love covers a multitude of wrong and I’m on though life’s not easy on this road/
My path is unique cuz God broke the mold/ live cuz his grace was paid not sold/
Celebrate Christ cuz death has been conquered I no longer follow flesh from the days of old/

I know, I know I know, I know I know we gotta live for today/
I know, I know I know, I know I know man it’s all about today/

Now I walk in faith cuz my soul’s brand new/ my flesh tries to conjure up things to do/
I figure if I just stay busy doing deeds maybe God won’t realize that I don’t have a clue/
But God sees everything got a clear view/ atop the highest heavens share it all with you/
But only if you let go of self and submit to His will for your life then He’ll show you what’s due/
Cuz many men are selfish and love to see you lose/ and few have been chosen to help to see you through/
But God orchestrates your path through circumstance to make the choices clear so you can see your next move/
Doesn’t always make sense but the end is the root/ like the planting of the seed is justified by the fruit/
Cuz God’s ways are not that of man and our common sense logic won’t lead us to the truth/

So I search for he tools and the things that I need/ to speak life fluid like the blood that I bleed/
Cuz now I know that I can’t do it by myself with out Christ giving life like the air that I breathe/
I dare to believe all that He promises/ rarely conceive the fruits of His prominence/
Omnipotent strength beyond all comprehension and His mission is to save me from consequence/
Get me off this fence beg for His providence/ take His right hand cuz I won’t take a loss in this/
Claim the victory though the outcome is unclear lost in the faith that I know who’s the boss in this/
Now the day has come listen to the calling wind/ harvest as one Holy Spirit calling men/
Follow the light like a lamb to the shepherd though I never knew I’d feel it now your love got me falling in/
