Ben Nichols was originally approached by Walking Dead to use his song, “Last Pale Light in the West” in the show for the first scene in S.4 E.6 involving the Governor. Nichols wrote this song specifically for the show as an alternative, but the show went with “Last Pale Light” after all.
Old death, where are you now?
You've left me behind somehow
Drank deeply from your cup
Now see what I've become
What's left but ash and burnt bone?
No last pale light to follow
Along here, to find my way
I'll catch up with you One day
And this old death is crooked and untrue
I played your game but now I think I'm through
I know what you look like
And I'll see you before long
[Instrumental]
And this old death is crooked and untrue
I played your game but now I think I'm through
I know what you look like
And I'll see you before long
Ben Nichols released This Old Death on Tue Mar 25 2014.
