I was standing in the shadow in the corner of the room
You turned to me and said 'why do you do those things you do?'
Sometimes things they fall apart and thats just how it goes
Dont have to say anything, its something we both know
The desert ground feels more like home than this house ever could
The dirt and rocks console me here with my pipe made of wood
When I get some shots in me, the railroad seems the place to be
To sleep down on those old tracks would finally lend me some peace
For if I did, Id not come back; the train would take my soul
It would crush my head and bones and no one would ever know
Now Im pouring some bourbon
And Im grabbing my rifle
Gotta build up the courage
To finish what I started
And the children are fighting
And the mommas are sick
If youre gonna beat me down
Just use the heaviest stick
Now I knowww
Know whyyyyy
Everybodys got the dope in their veins
Cause Iiiiiii
Would likeeeee
To not have to deal with any more of this pain
The old brick house on tucker street reminds me of our old ways
When we would sneak up in there and smoke drugs up in that place
The dandelions you had gave me from the bayou round the way
I blew them out but still they haunt my memories to this day
Its 1AM on the ranch and the fire is dying
But the light in your heart brightens me up I feel like flying
The ranch has an eerie feeling without you to confide in
The bulls are sad the chicks are scared without you by their side and
The glass you used last night is stained with the lipstick you were wearin
I raised that glass up to my mouth and now my nose is flaring
And my throat is swellin, and the tears are wellin
Gotta get out of here fore I do something Ill be regrettin
