There Is No Zodiac

If upon a hill
A city is set
And if in that city
A door knows your face
And calls your face
Just before dusk
Whilst the sparrows stall and fall
And if you
Under your seat
And the sea sweeps
By your feet
With the beautiful ruins of shells
And of ships
Innumerable, the swallows
Under the skies
Whilst the clouds create new eyes
Who will watch for his coming
Marked by the sound of swords
In those fields
In which we dreamt
Your eyes were as blue
As the stars you swallowed
By the lane overgrown
With nettle and murdock
I clocked the clock
Watched the flowers dream
The stinger of the moon
Whilst we played cards
Shoot speech with words
Autumn in your heart
Why not amass the dead
Under your bed
And arise the dead
Over your head
There is no Zodiac
The Zodiac call
And the cat stows on
Sleep on, dream on
In that city
Set upon a hill
And if on that city
Set upon a hill
The rivers are shouting
The dogs are on fire
By the small church you move your eyes
To mine
And the rain colored softly
Whilst you snapped back your eyes
You promised of smoke and all that
And the words that you spoke
And so on, and all that
Were not inside you
But inside us all
And I flashed that your bone
The desert's ?
Rising on thy paws of glory
The clouds call the rain far from home
To their city
Set upon a hill
And in that city
Set upon a hill
I saw the sun then said
Closed by your eyes
The sounds of thunder
The many things whilst the sun is set
The moon lock-shut
Shut down lights and sparks
Flickers fall down, flashes down
The sun is set
And next to her, the locked moon
Shone in the corner of our room
Locked and covened
There is no one here
