Lights are flashing
At the window
There’s my face
Inside the glass

All the city
Sleeping soundly
That’s when cars begin to pass
Headlights flicker as they pass

Like a roar of
Trains below me
That no earthquake
Could surpass

Floating engines
All around me
That’s when stars appear en masse
Catch the view inside the glass

Wait, dim the lights, and close up the drapes
Or I think a certain someone’s bound to see me
What would I say, for all the things I’ve done?
But they could lock me away, and I’d continue floating

Through the glass, and past the lamppost
Through the night, I blame these zeroes
And moments, right beside me
Times forgotten, clocks won’t guide me

What the roaring nights provide me

Dreams of what I’ve yet to be
Passing cars in front of me
Sitting here, right next to you
I’m thankful for the view I see
