The Vampire

She dreamed of blue skies turning red
She woke to ice upon her breath
And there he rose over her bed
A shadow foul and pale

He chilled her tears upon her cheek
His tongue was poison, yet so sweet
He offered glimpses of her dreams
To feed upon her veins

And all she feared, he called it love
And withered her world just to be her one
He drained her blood till she couldn't run
And watched her blue eyes fade

He gifted dreams that turned to chains
He built a castle for her cage
And if she sought to run away
He bled her back to sleep

But in the dark she lit a flame
It whispered her forgotten name
It filled her lungs, it filled her veins
And warmed her icy cheeks

And all she feared was turned to song
She built secret worlds just to carry on
Still, he bled her and bled her for oh so long
But he never saw her flame

'Till she scorched his bite with her molten blood
She lit up his lies to reveal the rot
She burned the vampire and his 'love'
As dawn broke on her face
