The Stranger

A stranger came into our town at twilight
He said he had chosen our town out of all the other towns
He said, “Roll out the red carpet”
He said, “I’m the one you have been waiting for”
He said, “I’ve come to serve you, no questions asked. So let’s make a deal”
He said, “Let’s shake on it”
He said “Give me five.”
He said “So put her here, let’s shake on it”

It’s the one with the pool
It’s the one on the corner with the big garage
It’s the one with the fir tree in the front yard
Leave the lights on. It’s twilight
