The Storm

People are dying in Africa
Coronavirus slayin' on the regular
The world is finally ending
My soul needs healing needs mending
Some of the darkest days we've seen
People are evil people are mean
But i lambast these fools with the rhetoric
Vividly painting pictures so esoteric
I pray to god i survive
Putting my trust in the holy christ
He's the one that can make things right
No one else holds the keys to my life
To god i give the glory even when my spirit is waring
With demons inside but they won't floor ME
I'm blessed i'm devoted i'm anointed

Everybody's battling something
But lord why must i go through this affliction
Everybody's battling something
But lord how many storms must i trench through

My days have turned to night
My life has dimmed to the darkness
My soul has felt the furnace
My world has caged me in torment

Some are battling cancer
Some are battling lust
Some are battling addiction
Some are battling demons
When i was younger i hoped that id make it
But didn't really know what it would take yet
Now my spirit is battling daily
With the forces that tried to kill me
There's destruction everywhere i turn
On my computer i see injustice
In the world i'm so disgusted
Evidently even ones i trusted
Denied me when they made it
Left me in the cold and dusted
But when they fall
I won't be there to answer their stinking prayers

I admit i left them in the cold
When there life started to unfold
And years later it turned on me
There was no one was to hear my plea
So when i make it big i can't help thee
Its all principles and self respect
You weren't there for me when i was down
I just watch you and never forget
It looks good for you right now
But the tables will turn somehow
You'll be falling i'll be rising
They'll be vex like how did he make
We were supposed to kill him off
That's the reason you ain't rated
Cause you stole everything to get there
I worked hard and i still had to wade it
