They say that the average human heart pumps with a general regularity,
Of 80 beats per minute,
But before it can find such balance,
It experiments
So upon birth,
Your body endures the induced trauma
Felt by its pulse beating,
Slightly too fast,
Then Slightly too slow,
Then Slightly too fast again,
As it attempts to lock into its own natural rhythm of life
And it’s been noted that before you awake,
Your eyeballs move independently of each other,
Choosing directions with the same whim and fancy,
As an undecided shopper rushing around in a mall
So until your brain kicks in and seizes control,
There’s no vision,
Because there’s no focus
So the question that you need to ask is:
How can you ever see anything,
If you dream forever?
And before your lungs inflate,
And take their first breath,
Of Life-giving oxygen,
They’re unaware that they even need to breathe,
They’re unaware that they even need to do anything!
So your lungs find themselves in the unique position of:
Having to need something that they’ve never known,
By needing to do something that they’ve never done,
But if nobody makes that first move…
…Everything stops.
Alas, the remedy for such a lack of knowledge,
Is similar to the fate that awaits,
Most of the ignorance that is present in life,
And such a remedy,
Usually takes the form of
A slap
