I remember the day I blew out my shoulder
Must have been twenty three and not a day older
I threw my weight as I swung to the left
Then searing pain in the back of my neck

Broken nose at around the same time
Head banging too close to some shitty band’s backline
A crunch as I hit the PA
And I still can’t breath quite the same way

Fractured arm as I slid into home plate
Set it quick but it still didn’t heal straight
And when the rains come I feel a dull ache
That fucking pain often keeps me awake

Dislocated hip in the outfield
Must have been six months before it healed
My physio’s name is Wayne
And he still comes out to all of my home games
