The song is written from a child’s point of view on war, thus the support for the foundation. It was composed by pianist Tim Rice-Oxley in late 2005 and the song was meant to be included on Under the Iron Sea, the band’s second album but was replaced on the definite tracklist on 14 March 2006.
This...
One day I will be back in our old street
Safe from the noise that's falling around me
And we'll release this town from the people
Who are trying to knock it down
And then only city lights will brighten the night sky
And there will be no sound
Open the banks and open the markets
Open the bars and open the churches
And we'll release this town from the people
Who are trying to knock it down
And then only city lights will brighten the night sky
And therе will be no sound
[Instrumental Break]
And we'll relеase this town from the people
Who are trying to knock it down
And then only city lights will brighten the night sky
And I will be set free from the people
Who are trying to bury me
And then only fireworks will light the sky at night
And we'll release this town from the people
Who are trying to knock it down
And then only city lights will brighten the night sky
And I will be set free from the people
Who are trying to bury me
And then only fireworks will light the sky at night
For all the world can see
The Night Sky (Demo) was written by Tim Rice-Oxley.
