On a dark street in a sad town
The lonely people shuffle by
All the windows have their shades down
Except for a room where the light is always burning

There's an old man in the lamplight
He reads the Word, prays and sadly cries
For the ones lost in their midnight
They don't see the saving glow
They think they don't have to know
