“The Land of Rape and Honey” takes its name from the motto of the town of Tisdale, Saskatchewan. The “rape” refers to rapeseed, of which canola is a cultivar. The band is said to have been inspired by seeing this motto on a souvenir mug.
[Verse 1]
Face to face
Blood to blood
The mountain
You tumbled from
[Pre-Chorus]
And in the land of rape and honey
You pray
[Chorus]
Step by step
You climb the mountain
You pray
[Verse 2]
Fist to fist
Eye to eye
The rulers of the wasteland
[Pre-Chorus]
And in the land of rape and honey
You pray
[Chorus]
Step by step
You climb the mountain
You pray
[Instrumental Bridge]
[Verse 3]
Head to head
Chest to chest
Which country is the very best?
[Pre-Chorus]
And in the land of rape and honey
You pray
[Chorus]
Step by step
You climb the mountain
You pray
