The Hoax

Create an enemy
And make it as hateful as can be
Dress it up in clothes and wrap it up in smoke
Fear’s always been their friend
And they will use it right ‘till the end
They’ll dream up a threat, tell another joke
I’m sick and tired of this same soundtrack
Why do you dance it when it’s a cheap composition
By the same authority you waive your mind
And in this smoggy town
No one here gets out alive
A monument to a thief:
“remember him for what he did”
Til we realize that this game is rigged
You turn on the TV
A mass distraction, the powers that be
And if you spread a hoax, you better make it big
Don’t believe a word cause it’s made to deceive you
And if you dig deeper you’ll sink like a stone
