The End Steps Forth

The need
To know the day
The hour, the frame
The place
That we shall meet
In the dark of my own voice, unanswered

The line that lies before me leads
One step unto the next, we take
For granted, we shall see
The sun rise on all our failures

Cast anew with every chance assumed
What comes? what may
What may not always lie in wait
The void replaced by shadow, cast
By time, denied in the abstract
It is all ways
There is always more...

I look to the sky
And it appears before me, cold
Before my time, it comes, to bring
The end to here, to now
Severing both star and light
The line becomes the blade
To meet and to succumb to fate
