‘The Doberman’ is the closing track on Kasabian’s second studio album Empire. It is one of the few songs on the album that has been frequently performed live after the Empire Tour, most notably the 48:13 tour in which it was usually performed as an intro to ‘Take Aim’.
It is one of only two closing...
[Verse 1]
Silence in the yard
Doberman's asleep
You'll never have to lay your head down here
Watch them disappear
The truth is
[Chorus]
They never had no future
They never had no past
I was alone
I was alone again
[Verse 2]
This beat on London's sky
Whiskey's almost dry
I smile 'cause I've already escaped
Just like to see how far I can take it
[Chorus]
They never had no future
They never had no past
I was alone
I was alone again
[Chorus]
They never had no future
They never had no past
I was alone
I was alone again
(This is how I like it)
[Bridge]
La, la la la lalala
La, la la la lalala
La, la la la lalala
La, la la la lalala
[Instrumental]
[Trumpet solo]
[Outro]
Silence in the yard
Doberman's asleep
You'll never have to lay your head down here
Watch them disappear
