The ribbon's on my tail
There's nothing in the mail
Everything's for show
And no one lets you know what they're on
Till it's gone
How you gonna live

The sheriff's on my trail
My poetry got stale
And then my paint dried up
There's no coins in my cup

But nothing is enough in this world
Everything's too much in this world
With nothing but a song in your heart
You can make a start to change your world

They want everyone to be straight
They're so twisted out of shape
All they need is hate
And the world they want to reinstate
Two hundred years out of date
