[Verse 1]
Bartender, two shots please
I need saving from myself and I'm already on my knees
Need to rinse me clean from the inside out
I'm inside out, all fear, no doubt
Fucking kill me
Kill me, kill me
Kill me really fucking slow
Begging on my knees and that's the only way I know
A demon in my head like the demon in my soul
Two shots please 'cause I'm ready to explode
[Chorus]
Bang your head off of the walls now
Pour yourself another drink
Ignoring all the wake up calls
All we do is take it to the brink
[Verse 2]
You say you don't feel well
Me too
You don't know how to copе but somehow you keep pushing through
Your mind is dark, let me light it up for you
You can't walk alonе and you will never be brand new
[Chorus]
Bang your head off of the walls now
Pour yourself another drink
Ignoring all the wake up calls
All we do is take it to the brink
[Bridge]
What does it mean
If your life is a dream
Then one day it turns into a nightmare?
I've broken hearts
And I can't live without them
What does it mean
If your life is a dream
Then one day it turns into a nightmare?
I've made mistakes
And I'm still paying for them
(Kill me, kill me)
(Kill me, kill me)
[Chorus]
Bang your head off of the walls now
Pour yourself another drink
Ignoring all the wake up calls
All we do is take it to the
Bang your head off of the walls now
Pour yourself another drink
Ignoring all the wake up calls
All we do is take it to the brink
Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes released Take It to the Brink on Fri Oct 15 2021.
The song is about doing too much all the time and how if there’s one thing you’re consistently good at, it’s pushing it over the edge—and that’s us all the time.
This one technically predates the album. We’d written this wild psychedelic version of the verse, and took a second dive at it when we were in the midst of everything and got it to feel like it fits in the world of Sticky.
