Swallowed Up

I wash
My hands in time for lunch but
A Light touch
Fills me up enough
I counted one
That swallowed up the love
And left the table unsatisfied

I cried
When you got hung to dry
For all that’s in my mind
I’ll never understand why
We all need to try
To reach inside our minds
And find a deeper light

In the river where you drowned you’re
Turning trauma into sounds
Opened up and you gave out
Something too real
Didn’t know what you’d done
But you put your paint on the brush
Saw that it was made from your blood
Hurt yourself in the deal

Sky high
A world upon a wire
And in the shadow lies
A long awaited trial
We all need to break
The bread upon the plate
And I am guilty too
