There's a grandma of five
Doing what it takes to survive
She lives check to check
She Loves hard and she does her best
Then it’s her birthday and the present that she gets
Is knowing that her future looks like hospital beds and wigs

You can get in trouble fast
When you look for answers why

Why do angels cry
Cause it's not fair that she has to be a fighter
But she's a survivor

Now she holds her grandson close
She always hoped she’d be the first to go
But he shares her fate
At least they caught it before it's too late
