I walk the streets of my childhood mumbling
Stumbling, dirt upon my shirt, stomach rumbling

Patently absurd, I guess nobody's perfect. Worthless
Struggling to find a sense of purpose
Caught up in the smog, drifting like a thick cloud
Of fog. Kicking like a one-legged dog
I stroll past the scenic divide and backtrack
"Damn, why the situation go down like that?"
Well, I used to try to think and get it all down with ink
But confusion floods my brain and I remain on the brink
I remember when life was delectable --
Waxing intellectual, growing my own vegеtables
Now the landscape of my mind statе's gritty
Pity -- can't believe I came back to the city

My fall from grace was amazing --

Beyond the point of a youthful affectation;
Hazy days strung into a permanent vacation
Weary on my feet, I go and take a seat

Landlady acts suspicious, skittish, nervous --

Wasteful, traumatically unstable for the faithful
