[Chorus]
Stand back, oh yeah
Sunday mornin' cereal
Stand back, oh yeah
Sunday mornin' cereal
Get up
Stand back, oh yeah
Sunday mornin' cereal
[Verse]
By the time I'm twenty-three
I know where I gotta be
I'm begging for you, please
'Cause I'm on my hands and knees
I'm spreading like disease
And I try and cut it down
And you treat me like a tree
Like I'm the only one around
I guess it's up to me and you
Choosin' what we wanna do
But I never have a clue
'Cause I never think it through
You treat me like I'm dust and I'm floatin' in the air
You think that I'm a monster and I never really care
[Chorus]
Sunday mornin' cereal
Get up
Stand back, oh yeah
Sunday mornin'
[Bridge]
Now I'm missin' you
What can I do?
It only seems to change
Will you ever come back to me?
[Chorus]
Sunday mornin' cereal
Get up
Stand back, oh yeah
Sunday mornin' cereal
Stand back, oh yeah
Stand back, oh yeah
Stand back, oh yeah

While I was writing and recording “Sunday Morning Cereal,” I’d been listening to a lot of ‘90s hip hop records like 2001 by Dr Dre and started to take influence from those drum grooves and exotic synth sounds. It’s definitely a different sounding record than my usual guitar based tracks.
