“Summer” is the third single from Finnish singer ALMA’s album Have You Seen Her?. She debuted the song live at Elsewhere, Brooklyn on October 5th, 2018, where she said it would feature on her yet-untitled debut album.
[Verse 1]
We went to watch the waves and
I wrote both our names in a heart on the pavement, yeah
Yesterday was vibin', now we sit in silence
Wanna see you smiling, yeah
[Pre-Chorus]
You don't feel when I try
You don't see when I cry
'Cause I'm broke and I hide it inside
Everyone always goes, 'cause I won't let 'em close
But I'm broken, I need you tonight
[Chorus]
Don't leave before the summer (Ooh)
I've got my heart to show ya (Ooh)
You've never seen what's under my covers
I know I've been a piece of shit lover
[Verse 2]
You told me that I'm crazy, always fucking faded
Wanna change my ways, yeah, out here
Never been the wife type
Always 'bout that nightlife
But I'm about to make it right out here
[Pre-Chorus]
You don't feel when I try (No, no)
You don't see when I cry (No)
But I don't wanna hide it inside
Everyone always goes, 'cause I won't let 'em close
But I promise I need you tonight
[Chorus]
Don't leave before the summer (Ooh)
I've got my heart to show ya (Ooh)
You've never seen what's under my covers
I know I've been a piece of shit lover
[Bridge]
I won't lie-e-e to you
It is what it is and it won't be a dream
I won't lie-e-e to you
It is what it is and it won't be a dream but
[Chorus]
Don't leave before the summer
(Don't leave before the summer, ooh)
I've got my heart to show ya
(I've got my heart to show you, ooh)
You've never seen what's under my covers
I know I've been a piece of shit lover
(Piece of shit lover)
