Stupid Cycles

Ashes fall, the night is cold
In the haze my stories told
Whiskey burns, it numbs the pain
In this glass, I drown the shame

Faded dreams, a shattered past
In these vices, I find my cast
Smoke curls up, it paints the night
In the dark I lose my fight

Every drag a step away
From the person I betrayed
In the mirror, I see the face
Of the one I can't erase

Bitter taste the liquors sting
In this life I can't find spring
Haunted by the choices made
In this fog I slowly fade

Once a light, now just a shade
In the shadows, I'm afraid
Turning into who I hate
In this cycle I sealed my fate
