In the Augusta, GA/ CSRA region the U.S. Census Bureau calculates there are approximately 45-50,000 individuals receiving SNAP Benefits, half of which reside in underserved Communities (Food Deserts). So that’s about 25,000 (approximately a minimum of at least 5,000 recipients per Zip-code) in Augusta who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance.

A "1964 Amended Food Stamp Law" describes SNAP recipients as Consumers who can purchase Seeds or Fruit bearing plants with their EBT Card & have a Right-to-Grow their own food.
