Today we’re going to discover all kinds of wonderful things about the many ways people make music
Singing, playing guitars and violins, beating drums, tooting horns
Ha ha!
Why, we’re going to hear everything from a rock and roll band to a full-sized orchestra
Oh, it’s gonna be lots of fun
Wanna come along? Well you can
And the best part is you don’t even have to leave the room you’re in right now
Just by using your imagination, you will be able to go with me to all the wonderful places we’re planning to be in
And that same imagination is going to let you see all kinds of fantastic pictures in your head:
Pictures of people making music
And the concert halls and recording studios where they perform and work
And then you’re going to take those pictures out of your head and draw them on paper with your crayons
And because you’re thinking, you can draw whatever you want
And it will look just great
And while you’re drawing, music will be playing to help your thoughts flow
And if the music ends before you’ve finished with your picture
Ha ha, then it’s no problem!
Just turn off your tape player until you finish drawing and then turn it back on again
I won’t go away, I’ll be waiting right here for you
I brought along my friend Wendy to let you know when to turn off your tape player so you can finish your picture
When you hear Wendy go [Siren sound effect] that’s your signal to stop the tape until it flows on
And by the way, do you know how to turn the tape player on and off?
Well, if you don’t, just ask someone to show you how
Then you’ll be able to start and stop your tape player whenever you want
Well, let’s head on into the radio station and meet our friend, the D.J
Through the door here
And then up these steps to the broadcasting studio
Here it is
Let’s go inside
What do you think [?]
That doesn’t sound much like music to me
But there’s Dapper Dan sitting over there!
He’s got a microphone in front of him and he’s got all sorts of controls and knobs and levers and a power board
He looks pretty busy, pushing buttons and turning knobs
Maybe that’s where all these funny noises are coming from, Ha ha ha!
Hello, Dapper Dan!
We’ve come to take a musical adventure!
Well okay, Dapper Dan will be right back after this message
Well hello everybody, how goes it?
Ju-just a minute now I’m almost done I-I’m here doing the controls and it’s got itself—
Dapper Dan is my main man, ha ha!
Dapper Dan is my main man, ha ha!
Dapper Dan is my main man
Dapper Dan is my main man
Dapper Dan—
