It all came together then everything burst

I felt so blessed, but now I am cursed

I met a man, he was old at 22

The laziest man to sit between two shoes

He said: "no one ever wins, one side's just slower to lose"

Without even trying he had misspent his youth

I met a woman, saying: "why not me

Just want to get ahead, is there a placе for me?

Is the hour upon us in our democracy

Thе haters will hate, and the lovers... will they just let it be?"

I went out into the world and I heard the despair

Millions of people, no one was really there

I asked what has become of peace and love and care

And everyone pointed out the other one and said:

"Never while you are here"

But I travelled the land and I saw its rebirth

By the sun and the rain and the sky and the earth

By a frown of the will and sweat on the shirt

By an unnoticed, uncelebrated heart in the dirt

The cages are rattling, some of them may burst

But we can be blessed though now we    are cursed
