Nics, again. Flowing ‘til the story hits the end
But I do this in the booth and so the rules are ‘bout to bend
Acoustic words keeping up with my elusive pens
If life is but a test, you got some answers you can lend?
‘Cause I’mma need ‘em
I really don’t know where I’m going
But as of now I have no plans of slowing
If I’mma get wherever then I need to keep my head straight
Mind right. Skip the limelight, lose the deadweight
Get myself together, whether I need to whether a storm
Of tragedies attacking me ‘til I can’t suffer no more
Or lose myself to this music, lay a track and abuse it
To get some money in my pocket just to do something stupid
But…
I guess we oughta listen to the streets
We hearing hard times that were written on a sheet
Between them odd lines of whipping bricks and packing heat
Civilians lying on the ground at the sound of the police
It’s real fear that can keep a noble man humble
Inside his eyes he’s fighting back the tears he’s boutta fumble
And bystanders standing by with cameras make ‘em grumble
But is this not enough to make a cop’s career crumble?
I ain’t really tryna get political with this
But I can use my words better than some can use their fists
