Smog

Slowly I place my feet on the even plane
I will try to drown out the world that is to blame
I'll squint my eyes, pretend I see the stars again
A deep breathe in, inhale the smog
No want for, no need to prove the obvious
No comfort, though resolute it's come to this
If I could do it all again I'd wish for this
Find pleasure in the little poison
And every breath of smog

And pretty soon I won't feel at all
And I whisper words to you till they start to stall

I nourish and I become your excrement
I flourish and I have seen to what extent
The rapid movement makes me miss it all again

Don't come for, don't look for me ever again
I'm done for, I know the leaves will turn again
A new disguise, I will not look familiar then
I'll find pleasure in the little poison
