Through picture storms, I am thrown back and forth
When my focus is slipping, my mind runs away from me
The harder I try to hold it, it takes me away

Deprived of sleep, mind like a hurricane
Fragments of thoughts swirling in circles
Each impression like a tickle, rain fills the riverbed
Rarely a trickle but most times a current

I wish I could focus more, I wish my thinking was clearer
But my mind always flows in an elusive trickle
I wish I had it once quiet, wish for the voices to stop
But the noise swells on like a waterfall

In the quietest place, I hear the loudest screams

It loves to abduct me to brighter days
Paints me pictures in colors I have never seen
