Shake him for a day, see what falls away
Take what's left and kick the scraps away
He drinks his gasoline, it sends him to his dreams
His sticky life has been too sweet
She laughs him lullabies, to help him close his eyes
He never thinks he'll ever sleep
He twists inside his sheets, curled up at her feet
A quiet mess that's warm and sweet
Shake him for a year, in spite of all his fears
I never thought he'd be so strange
He lines them in a row, these things he's always known
