“Senses” is the third single from Courtney Paige Nelson’s debut EP “Fever Dream, and her seventh single overall.
The song is about the five senses we have: sight, touch, taste, smell, hearing, and how they get triggered when you lose someone important to you.
[Verse 1]
I would say I got your smell still in between my sheets
But you were never here long enough, to leave a scent on me
I would say I'm still kinda empty, never really feeling much most days
I still hear the ringing in my ears from what you said
[Pre-Chorus]
Chase me through the garden just like we were kids back then
Sew yourself into my skin so I feel you again
[Chorus]
You're no longer my thunderstorm, making commotion, taking things away from me
The taste you left is bittersweet
You're no longer my thunderstorm, making commotion, taking things away from mе
Numb my senses, make mе weak
[Verse 2]
I could see a lack of confidence from you for me
Always felt the pain of more or when is when you leave
I would say I'm still kinda empty, never really feeling much most days
Try to mock myself to be exactly what you need
[Pre-Chorus]
Chase me through the garden just like we were kids back then
Sew yourself into my skin so I feel you again
[Chorus]
You're no longer my thunderstorm, making commotion, taking things away from me
The taste you left is bittersweet
You're no longer my thunderstorm, making commotion, taking things away from me
Numb my senses, make me weak
[Bridge]
Cage me again and walk away
You're gone, I'm ok
Etched all your faults to memory
You're gone, I'm ok
[Chorus]
You're no longer my thunderstorm, making commotion, taking things away from me
The taste you left is bittersweet
You're no longer my thunderstorm, making commotion, taking things away from me
Numb my senses, make me weak
