In this savage little world it's a simple fact
Life for some is like Heaven on a summers' day
But for others and their children
It's bad Halloween on a dark and evil day

Barbecues and caravans
Jelly-tips and Superman
Tennis ball cricket on the beach

But don't you know on the Ivory coast
On the long hot summer days
The beach is a killing field
And the Jelly-tip's a gun

In this savage little world it's a simple truth
Looking back we can laugh
About a wild and crazy youth
All we got is a beating heart and a memory
Of how things used to be

Hoola hoops and Beatle boots
Surfing trips, Italian suits
The High school ball and her tender little hands

But you don't know in Kosovo
On the long hot summer nights
It's a fire ball and no tender little hands
