originally written for the 2010 alkaline trio record “this addiction”, but it didn’t make the final album.
this song follows the same theme that is rampant throughout This Addiction; it’s about a relationship that didn’t work out.
[Verse 1]
Such a shame what became of a broken heart
Till this day it remains hanging in the dark
And I'm afraid and ashamed of the things she said
Never been so alive, never felt more dead
And these days all is great, but the water's red
I entertain these insane visions in my head
I fell in love just above the vapor trails
Where the vultures who encircle are sick as us
[Chorus]
S.O.S
Please rescue me
You're out of breath, I'm out of steam
I held you sailing in my heart
Our love has torn this ship apart
Please rescue me
[Verse 2]
It's a crime all this time we've been lost for words
Lost at sea we believed everything we heard
For last night I was riding the ocean blue
And now I swim with the fishes and sink with you
And these days all is great but the water's red
I entertain these insane visions in my head
I fell in love just above the vapor trails
Where the vultures who encircle are sick as us
[Chorus]
S.O.S
Please rescue me
You're out of breath, I'm out of steam
I hold you sailing in my heart
Our love has torn this ship apart
S.O.S
Come rescue me
I'm losing all, but surviving
I need a hand to save my soul
To pull me from this all-time low
[Bridge]
Rescue me, rescue me
Rescue me
Rescue me
[Chorus]
S.O.S
Come rescue me
I fell prey to your great white teeth
I let you sink in, deep and slow
Watery graves await below
Please rescue me
