My music acting brave
With me barking from the stage

You & I used to run on romance
We ran til our sneakers had holes
I don’t do much running anymore
Something had to change
Was my skin in this game

Luck you keep dropping past my head
It’s a free fall every time I kiss her
Is there a sulfur sky ahead?
Disembodied every time i miss her
And I’ll probably miss her
Til the very end

Impossible to know who marooned who
We’re alive so it doesn’t really matter
I probably should lie but I once wished you’d died
Yes it’s true
Now you’re just a cartoon
A permanent tattoo
