Roccastrada is a song about dreams – and about the role they play in processing experiences. The artist decided to name the song after a castle like city enthroned at the tip of a hill. He could see it from his bedroom window, enlightening the horizon every night while on vacation in Italy.
[Verse 1]
I’ve been dreaming again last night
You showed up to the war in my mind
Sneaking up quietly to the place beside me
Blue flowers among green leaves
The fabric on a golden skin
And I saw you wearing every colour
I saw you lying in the summer
And oh I ain’t ever wanna wake the truth
[Chorus 1]
Play your role in every other dream
Keep the illusive taste of what there could have been
You don‘t hold me tight
But still won’t leave me
[Verse 2]
So I’ve been fleeing to a forеign ground
To get away from a trusted sway
And red stripеs grace the sky
To call in eventide
But even with the veins of wine
Weary head won’t let me sleep
So I observe Roccastrada at night
And it’s glowing the way that you glow in a crowd
[Chorus 2]
Play your role in every other dream
Keep the illusive taste of what there could have been
You don‘t hold me tight
But still won’t leave me
[Bridge]
Foolish I never saw the signs
If only you had told me right
Missed by a minute just to be in time
When we met for a forced goodbye
And now both of those restless minds
Slowly slip back into life
And now that all the lines divide
I hope we‘ll meet at another time 2x
