[Ensemble]
Sleep now
Here among your choices
Then drift away
Here now, how the world rejoices
Shades of grey
Gone, who was right or wrong
Who was weak or strong
Nothing left to learn
Feel every gentle breeze
Whisper through the trees
As the seasons turn
Souls sing their oratory
Fading west as they fly (Fading as they fly)
Tales full of fleeting glories
Stories old as the word "good"
(Goodbye)
A-ah old as the word goodbye
Requiem was written by Jack Murphy & Frank Wildhorn.
Frank Wildhorn, Jack Murphy and Ivan Menchell released Requiem on Wed Jan 01 2014.
As both characters Light and L die at the end, it could be interpreted as a requiem for them. However, I think it’s more likely a requiem for Light as he dies right before the song (L dies earlier) and the mention of “how the world rejoices” is most likely a reference to Kira now being gone.
