It just dawned on me that I'm gonna get older
And it may sound stupid but truth is
That I get scared just thinking about
Getting closer to death, losing my breath, useless
And there's no getting through this
'Cause we're all gonna die one day
I picture myself looking old and grey
In the hospital bed is the place I lay
Skin tone looking pale, feeling frail and weak
Feeling too much pain so they put me to sleep
Man, that's just how my grandad died
Feel bad for my nan when I see her weep
I was there and I witnessed your last breath
Walked in, nan sitting by your bed, I said
I don't think grandad's breathing
So I called out for help and the doc said
I'm sorry but the cancers beat him, we tried our best to treat him
So my nan kissed him on the forehead
She stayed till the end didn't leave him
She slept the whole night by his bedside holding his hand
Won't forget that evening, can't even imagine that feeling
Seeing your partner leaving, this wonderful world you been in
Together for 60 years, man that shit must be weird
To just be here without them
Everything you see you think about them
And all the memories you tend to see
Must just be a pain to see the vacancy is plain to see
It's making me afraid to be happy
'Cause happiness is just a fantasy
It makes you think you can fly
So when you're up and you're high in the sky
It gets taken away at the blink of an eye, now you're falling
And you're calling out for some help
But you got no one but yourself and you know that your health
Ain't gonna wait longer for you to get stronger
You're all alone, the reaper approaching slow
It's deeper then ocean zones that's overflown and overgrown
Your life is over so the reapers here to reap your soul
Make the most of every moment
You never know when it's your time to go
