Sometimes i push it a little to hard
fall asleep in my friend's backyard
and when i see you, I crumple into a puddle

but you put your rainjacket over my puddle,
cure my woes with your ever cuddle
your like a sale at the mattress discount store

I try too hard to be tough too often
i never want to break down
but you always seem to give me good old loving
I don't have to play it cool when your around

i wish i saved more energy for you
instead i disperse it around in the blue
talking to squid and doing mass spectrometry

but your like a meadow in the middle of july
i love it when you pick me up and sit me on your thigh
I feel like a kid who gets to talk to santa
