[Chorus]
Regis Korchinski Paquet
We will never forget
[Verse 1]
This is about Regis. A black indigenous woman with dreams
That died in the hands of a wicked society
Some may feel that this is unimportant
But this affect everybody black and living
Now, Regis was born with her sisters and her brothers
And then her parents got married to each other
Since she was child, she has always been active
She won competitions always doing gymnastics
During those days, she always stood up for her brother
She would mess people up if they messed with her brother
But as she got older, she always questioned her race
Her dad was Ukrainian. Her mom was indigenous. That was her trace
So she went to her granddad when she had lots of questions
And he gave her closure. Which stopped her confusion
Race had always been an issue but she then started to learn
In God's eyes, we’re all equal. Why not stop the evil?
As she started to hustle, she then had epilepsy
It was hard to keep a job. She had seizures every week
But all of that made her appreciate her family
She would always show them love. That was her new strategy
But then her grandfather died and she had back to back seizures
Whenever things got rough, her father was always there for her
Even though she lived in Toronto, she made the best of what she got
There may have been some negatives but she tried to stay positive
[Chorus]
Regis Korchinski Paquet
We will never forget
[Verse 2]
It was a warm Wednesday morning and Regis suffered another seizure
Bad things were just creeping like a bed creature
When the symptoms decreased, she started chilling with her father
But relaxed on the couch as she got dizzy and hot
So, her father stepped out just to go to Markham
To pick up something for his daughter at a family member’s home
Then Regis’s mother called the cops to help calm down her daughter
And to take her for mental health treatment
The cops came inside the family’s apartment
It had 24 floors inside a quiet neighbourhood
They opened the door to see what’s up
Then they got into a tussle and that’s when things got rough
And then a couple of moments later, Regis started to cry for help
Then they threw her off the balcony. She died on the spot
She fell 24 stories and they called it a suicide
Another black sister murdered while the police are saying lies
[Chorus]
Regis Korchinski Paquet
We will never forget
[Verse 3]
Outraged at the things that took place, there was lots of protests
In the city of Toronto marching being self expressive
It was truly unfair for Regis and her family
The crooked police is out of control abusing their authority
It was such a blessing seeing how much people loved Regis
The woman had a lot of goals but she got stopped early
A beautiful young black woman let down by the justice system
And her life was living hell. She was always struggling
It was the day of the funeral and there were a lot of tears shed
The family had to face the fact that their little girl is dead
The father dressed in a suit and the mother sang a hymn
And his granddaughter came and cried as she reminisced
On the precious good times that her and Regis had
“She said thank you for telling me you love me”. It was sad
This is for Regis and Race and Ethnicities Ganked In Society
So, now you know the story of Regis Korchinski Paquet, I’m sorry
[Chorus]
Regis Korchinski Paquet
We will never forget
