Yeah, I'm in a prison bar surrounding us all
I'm worried about the children, see I'm working in the schools
And only once a week now I'm sitting in a hall
Listening to a weak imam giving us a talk
And he speaks a different language so I'm drifting with my thoughts
I wonder which thobe would go with the trainers that I bought?
Who knows what's next? Shaytan whispers all sorts
And there's a brother on my phone leaving six missed calls
Still sitting in his home, he didn't pray jumah at all (x2)
And outside the masjid, there's a lot of criminals
A lot of backbiting, and a lot of idle talk
A lot of big cars, not fashionable to walk
And if we catch a bus, we get cussed if we're caught
If you wanna get married, you gotta pay a big dowry
Or have a big wedding to impress a big family
That's if you're accepted in the first place
I still can't believe we got a problem with race
I lower my face, disgraced at the bad
I'm happy with the good, but I'm still feeling sad
Because I came from the hood and I don't wanna go back
So I need my brothers' help to keep running on this track
So now I'm screaming out, where my brothers at?
Where is the religion, I read from front to back
Inside the book? And I was happy with that
So why is it today we're so far away
From the Qur'an and the Sunnah but so close to the grave?
What did my brothers say?
They say, this, this what I'm doing is haraam
Excuses for me, they didn't even make one
Good advice, no, they didn't even give one
They just attacked me behind my back, and then they're gone
Ma'shaa'Allah, that's some Sahaba love
I'm due to drop a tear now cuz I'm really thinking of
The situation we're in, and it isn't good enough
But we don't learn until it's too late, that's what I'm scared of
We care more of the opinion of each other than Allah
She's standing outside the embassy, with a banner and a scarf
But that's around her neck, and she doesn't pray salah
Is this a big joke? Am I supposed to laugh?
Are we not getting closer and closer to the Hour?
Is this not an ummah that's in need of the da'wah?
