Precious Christmas Puppy

It was only a few days before the big holiday when our youngest son, Jimmy, found this newborn puppy in the street, almost lifeless, one snowy morning. He gently picked him up and brought him home. We called our friend Dr. Brown, asked him to come over right away. He arrived about 10 a.m., said he was doubtful we could save the puppy, but told us to keep him warm and covered up, and pray. Then, if he awakens, give him some milk with baby food. The kids were crying. It was so sad!

So throughout the day, we kept watching the precious puppy. His heart was beating, and he was breathing so heavily, fighting to stay alive. Although we understood that his chances were mighty slim, we kept hoping and praying that he was going to be okay. Suddenly, very early Christmas Eve morning, we heard the baby puppy making sounds like he was calling us. I woke up my wife and said, "He's awakened! We've got to feed him right away!" I heated up some milk, mixed it with baby food, and gave it to him in a little doll bottle. We both smiled as the precious little puppy drank and licked the nourishment so intensely. The kids were so happy. We thanked God in heaven, because now, our tiny friend would be a new member of our family forever!
