As a young boy, Bruce’s grandmother would sing him “My Pony Boy”, a popular song dating back to 1909. When his wife Patti became pregnant with their first child, Bruce took his vague recollection of the song and turned it into this new lullaby for his son.
[Chorus]
Pony boy, pony boy
Won't you be my pony boy?
Giddy-up, giddy-up, giddy-up, whoa
My pony boy
[Verse 1]
Ride with me, ride with me
Won't you take a ride with me?
Underneath the starry sky
My pony boy
[Verse 2]
O'er the hills and through the trees
We'll go riding, you and me
Giddy-up, giddy-up, giddy-up away
My pony boy
[Chorus]
Pony boy, pony boy
Won't you be my pony boy?
Giddy-up, giddy-up, giddy-up, whoa
My pony boy
[Verse 3]
Down into the valley deep
'Neath the eaves we will sleep
Sky of dreams up above
My pony boy
[Chorus]
Pony boy, pony boy
Won't you be my pony boy?
Giddy-up, giddy-up, giddy-up, whoa
My pony boy
[Chorus]
Pony boy, pony boy
Won't you be my pony boy?
Giddy-up, giddy-up, giddy-up, whoa
My pony boy
