In your life's parentheses I took my place
A fleeting thought within your endless race
Would've loved to be your chapter in the night
But I was just a whisper lost in sight

You spun your tales with futures brightly sown
Then left me like a breeze that's quickly blown
I watched your story write itself ahead
While I was left with all the words unsaid

Anne I was only a parenthesis
In sentences that never came to be
I might have been your favorite page to turn
