The 77s
The 77s
The 77s
The 77s
The 77s
The 77s
The 77s
The 77s
[Verse 1]
I'm gonna move
Way out on the outskirts of town
Everybody dogged me
Yeah, they dogged me right on down
[Chorus 1]
They hit me once
They hit me twice
They hit me three times
People, but that's all right, all right
I'm gonna move
I'm gonna move, yeah
Way outside of town
[Verse 2]
Yeah, they stick it to me
Right to my face
They put me in the ground, they put me
Right in my place
[Chorus 1]
They hit me once
Hit me twice
They hit me three times, people
But that's all right, all right
I'm gonna move
I'm gonna move, yeah
Way out on the outskirts, outskirts
Way outside of my town
[Guitar Solo]
[Verse 3]
I'm tellin' you people
Tell you right now
You better watch your step
Get yourself right out of this big
[Chorus 2]
They'll hit you once
They'll hit you twice
They'll hit you three times, people
Three times, people, but that's all right, all right
I'm gonna move
I'm gonna move, yeah
Well, I'm gonna move
Well, I'm gonna move, well
Way out on the outskirts, outskirts
Way outside of my town
[Guitar Solo]
Yeah!
[Percussion Solo]
[Bridge]
Be bop a lula, be bop, baby
We're three caballeros, three gay caballeros
Ridin' our banana boat
Sunshine on my shoulders makes me sweaty
[Verse 4]
Ain't but one way out, babe
Lord, I just can't go out that door
Ain't but one way out, babe
Lord, I just can't go out that door
The man out there, he might be the ice cream man, I don't know
[Guitar Solo]
[Verse 5]
Tellin' you people
I tell you right out
You better watch your step, get yourself out of this big bad St. Louis town
[Chorus 4]
They hit you once
I tell you twice
You hit me three times, people
But that's all right, all right, all right
I'm gonna move
Yeah, I'm gonna move, yow!
Huh
[Spoken Outro]
Thank you. We're gonna change the order of the set a little bit here, given the rather balladry--the rather quiet nature tonight of the audience, the recital-like nature. The next number in this series is an opus that was written by our drummer, Bruce Spencer. He came to me after a night of hideous dreams, dark visions. It was a painful, haunting evening for him. I told him it was the pepperoni pizza. Not believing me, he sent me off to write the lyrics to the song--a haunting, torturous melody that I've yet to get over.
