Our Children

[Verse 1]
Our children growing up in a life of so much anger
So much is wrong in our lives, to them we are like strangers
Not even having time to read them a book, but we have so much time for our friends
All they see are thieves and crooks, and copy our nasty trends
To them we are like strangers, a shadow of the fire
For them we are so ignorant, we are cheats and we are liars (x2)

My little brother and my little sister, forgive me for not sharing the time
My son and my little girl, today will be yours and mine
We'll laugh and we will play, together as family
And I'll teach you when you're with me, what I know of the right way

And long days and long nights, frustrated and annoyed
No time for the young ones, for them we are devoid
They don't need holidays, they don't need toys
But all they need is you
To see a friend and guardian whose actions are good and true
Did not our Prophet used to play, with the children on his way
Running around, playing silly, smiles across their face

Don't forget your young ones, and fear Allah
They're more important than your job and your friends are
If you show them love and respect, and uphold the Noble Qur'an
They may become Allah's chosen, and help you whenever they can
Be like Muhammad, a shadow of paradise
And in the days you will see them, holding your guidance tight
Rasoolullah, sallallahu 3lyhi wa sallam
