[Verse 1]
I've been watchin' you for some time
Can't stop starin' at those ocean eyes
Burning cities and napalm skies
Fifteen flares inside those ocean eyes
Your ocean eyes
[Chorus]
No fair
You really know how to make me cry
When you give me those ocean eyes
I'm scared
I've never fallen from quite this high
Fallin' into your ocean eyes
Those ocean eyes
[Verse 2]
I've been walkin' through a world gone blind
Can't stop thinkin' of your diamond mind
Careful creature made friends with time
He left her lonely with a diamond mind
And those ocean eyes
[Chorus]
No fair (No fair)
You really know how to make me cry
When you give me those ocean eyes (Those ocean eyes)
I'm scared (I'm scared)
I've never fallen from quite this high
Fallin' into your ocean eyes
Those ocean eyes

Billie Eilish released ocean eyes on Thu Nov 19 2015.
The song is a metaphorical love song. Billie Eilish compares her attraction to an individual to that of the ocean. She talks about how deep she’s fallen, and how she gets sucked in by the eyes of her love interest.
[My brother] came into my room in October of last year to tell me he had this song called “Ocean Eyes.” He’d been doing it with his band before, but of course I’d heard it because I was right next door. I sang it, and we both loved it. It’s just a beautiful song, and [my brother] Finneas is an amazi...
We put it on SoundCloud with a free download link next to it so my dance teacher could access it. We had no intentions for it, really. But basically overnight a ton of people started hearing it and sharing it. Hillydilly, a music discovery website, found it and posted it and it just got bigger and b...
While “Ocean Eyes” is indeed the song that catapulted Eilish into public consciousness, it was not her first track. Before it were two songs uploaded to her SoundCloud account— “sHE’s brOKen”, and “Fingers Crossed”, with “Six Feet Under”. coming after “Ocean Eyes”.
The song was written by her brother and producer, Finneas O'Connell, and was crafted after Eilish’s dance teacher requested the duo to record a song to choreograph a routine to. The track was originally intended for O'Connell’s own band, The Slightlys.
During the week ending May 4, 2019, “ocean eyes” peaked at #84 on the Hot 100.
In an interview with Face Culture, Billie revealed that she has gotten tired of the song:
They [“ocean eyes”] are in the past. [But] they are still really close to me. No matter how much I’ve evolved, how much I’m evolving, and how much I’m going to evolve, “ocean eyes” is what made me get where I...
In an interview with Pitchfork, Finneas explained:
Billie was really really particular about how she wanted her voice to sound on it. There’s so many harmonies on that song, and so many doubles and there’s so many layers of background vocals. Normally, you can knock out an entire song’s worth of vo...
